Standard sash window repair service
Removal of all beading and sashes (both top and bottom)
Re putty any loose or missing putty on sashes
Remove any excess paint on sashes and frames to ensure sashes will travel smoothly
Lubricate pulleys (or install new if required)
Check sashes for the correct weight along with the weights in the frame and add any additional weight if needed for the correct balance along with new sash cord
Refit Top sash and check for smooth operation
Cut and install new parting bead if needed
Re fit bottom sash and check the meeting rail alignment and window lock
Install stop beads and check window is operating smoothly
Remove rubbish and clean work area
Standard Spiral Balance service
This is the same as above but with a spiral balancer and not sash cords, more modern windows will have spiral balances rather than sash cords.
